STATESBORO, Ga. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF outside hitter Janine Williams (Gainesville, Fla.) was named to the Georgia Southern Holiday Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team Saturday night after helping lead her team to two wins on the weekend.
The sophomore posted two double-doubles in the tournament and averaged 3.87 kills and 2.07 digs per game. She also contributed five total blocks and six service aces.
In the Knights' match against host Georgia Southern, Williams registered 25 kills and 13 digs, and followed that up with a match-high 19 kills in the victory over Presbyterian later in the day. Her 58 total kills in the tournament led the team.
The Knights host the six-time national champion Stanford on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at The Venue at UCF at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 students to arrive at the event will be guaranteed a ticket for the UCF vs. USF football game on Sept. 6.
