ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF senior offensive tackle Patrick Brown (St. Charles, Ill.) has been named to the preseason watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award. The award, now in its 39th year, honors the top lineman in the Football Bowl Subdivision. It will be presented in Houston on December 10 at the Hilton Americas Hotel.
Brown has been named to the 2007 All-Conference USA first team. He was named to the All-C-USA first team in 2007 and was an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2006. Brown has started 38 games in his UCF career at left tackle, missing only the season opener of his true freshman season. Last fall, he helped pave the way for consensus All-America tailback Kevin Smith and the rest of UCF's school record breaking offense as the Knights claimed the Conference USA Championship and a berth in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
UCF will open its 30th season of football on Saturday night at 6 p.m. when the Knights play host to MEAC favorite South Carolina State at Bright House Networks Stadium on the school's Orlando campus.
