ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With only six days until their season-opening tournament at Georgia Southern, the UCF volleyball team will take to the floor Saturday for its first Black and Gold scrimmage at 4 p.m. at The Venue at UCF. The intra-squad match will allow anxious Knights' fans to get a sneak-peak at the 2008 team and will also serve as the finale of UCF's preseason-training camp.
With 10 newcomers and only six returning letterwinners for the 2008 campaign, first-year head coach Todd Dagenais will be able to evaluate his new talent and see what improvements the returners have made in match situations.
The Knights kick-off the 2008 season when they take on in-state rival Jacksonville, host Georgia Southern and Presbyterian at the Georgia Southern Invitational, before returning home to challenge 2007 National runner-up Stanford for the inaugural match at The Venue at UCF.
Season tickets for the Black and Gold's first year at The Venue are on sale now for $30, with the Knights playing a total of 10 matches at its new facility during season.
