ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Due to inclement weather settling over the Sunshine State, the UCF women's soccer team announced that its season-opener at No. 4 Florida State Friday has been rescheduled. The Knights and Seminoles now will kick off their respective 2008 campaigns Sunday at 1 p.m. in Tallahassee.
If weather remains a problem through Sunday, head coach Amanda Cromwell explained that both teams will try to find a way to get the match in.
UCF and Florida State settled with a 3-3 draw in last year's meeting in Orlando. Both programs are coming off trips to the NCAA Tournament, with the Black and Gold reaching the second round and the Seminoles advancing to the College Cup finals.
The Knights' first home match will be Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. against Hartford. Admission to all home events is free.
UCF women's soccer yearbooks are now available as well. To order a copy, check out www.UCFAthletics.com and head to the Publications Store.
