ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Season tickets for the upcoming UCF volleyball season are on sale now for fans anticipating the 2008 campaign. The Knights will play 10 matches at The Venue at UCF in their first season under head coach Todd Dagenais, and for only $30 fans can catch all of the action. Fans can purchase their tickets by calling the UCF athletics ticket office at 407-UCF-1000 or logging onto www.UCFAthletics.com.
Dagenais and the squad will make their home debut at The Venue on Sept. 2 when they face No. 2 Stanford at 7 p.m. The Cardinal finished the 2007 season with a 32-2 overall record and advanced to the NCAA National Championship match for the 13th time, concluding the season with a No. 2 ranking in the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) poll.
Following the Kansas University Invitational, the Black and Gold returns home to play in-state rival Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 10. UCF holds a 14-0 record against the Wildcats, with the teams' last meeting coming in 2005.
After embarking on an eight-match road-trip, UCF will play four-straight Conference USA matches at The Venue in early October. The Knights will face Marshall and East Carolina in the first weekend of the month, before hosting Memphis and UAB the following weekend.
UCF play its final non-conference match of the season versus Florida Gulf Coast in the teams' first meeting on Oct. 21, and will host Tulane and UTEP on Halloween weekend.
The Knights' home schedule concludes on Nov. 11 with a C-USA match-up with Southern Miss.
