ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF women's tennis head coach Stephanie Nickitas announced that the 2009 spring schedule has been slightly altered. The Knights have added Florida Gulf Coast and NC State to the home slate, while dual-matches against East Carolina and Memphis have been removed.
The Black and Gold originally were set to clash with ECU Feb. 20 and Memphis Feb. 22, both at home, but scheduling conflicts forced the changes. Florida Gulf Coast now travels to Orlando Feb. 15 for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Knights, and NC State heads south for a March 2 contest with first serve at 2 p.m.
UCF won the only previous meetings between FGCU and NC State. The Knights defeated the Eagles, 7-0, last season, and topped the Wolfpack, 4-1, in 2001. NC State finished the 2008 campaign ranked No. 36 in the country.
