ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Due to morning rain in the Orlando area, the UCF football team moved its Thursday afternoon practice indoors. The Knights practiced for two hours inside Nicholson Fieldhouse.
UCF head coach George O'Leary has been pleased by the improvements that his top two quarterbacks - junior Michael Greco and redshirt freshman Joe Weatherford - have shown recently. Greco is the lone signal caller on the roster with any collegiate game experience.
"Both [quarterbacks] have had better days the last three days. This week, they have gotten better as far as delivering the ball," said O'Leary. "They are making the right decisions on who is supposed to get the ball, which I think is key from your quarterback."
UCF's next practice is set for Friday afternoon, around 3:20 p.m.
? Jorge Magluta, an offensive lineman for the Knights from 1982-85, was on campus Thursday to watch the team practice.
? Central Florida News 13 will have a story about UCF's preseason camp during the Central Florida Sports Report this evening at 11:13 p.m. Junior linebacker Jordan Richards and junior defensive tackle Travis Timmons were some of the Knights who spoke to CFN-13 reporters following practice.
? UCF's football select-a-seat and picture day is set for this Sunday. UCF Athletics representatives will be on hand at Bright House Networks Stadium from 1-6 p.m. to help fans make new season-ticket purchases. An autograph session with the Knights, which is free to the public, will begin at 4:30 p.m. inside the stadium.
