ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Andrew Gavin has joined the UCF Athletics staff as a an assistant director of communications, associate athletics director for communications and marketing Joe Hornstein announced Monday. Gavin will serve as the media relations contact for UCF's women's basketball, men's soccer, cross country and track and field programs.
Gavin comes to UCF after spending two years at USC Aiken, where he was the primary sports information contact for men's basketball, softball, cross country and men's and women's tennis. This past spring, Gavin was honored by CoSIDA for producing one of the top softball media guides in the nation.
"Andrew is a very talented young man who will be a tremendous asset in our communications office," said Hornstein. "We feel that he will be a tremendous resource for our fans, members of the media and our coaches and student-athletes. Our goal to provide complete coverage of UCF Athletics, and Andrew will help us reach that goal."
A native of Indiana, Gavin earned his undergraduate degree from Centre College in Kentucky. During his time in college, Gavin played basketball for two years, and also completed a sports information internship.
