UCF Men's Basketball Top 40 - Pat Crocklin

July 24, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - During his four-year career with the Knights, Pat Crocklin made just four 3-point field goals. The 3-point line was introduced at the start of the 1986-87 season, which served as Crocklin's sophomore campaign at UCF.

Despite lacking proficiency from deep, the 6-foot-5 forward still managed to score 1,295 points during his career, good for eighth in program history. Crocklin concluded his time in Orlando as the program's all-time leading scorer at the Division I level.

A native of Houston, Crocklin played at UCF during a time when the Knights were struggling to adjust after joining the D-I ranks in 1984.

Under head coach Phil Carter, Crocklin was a consistent player for UCF. He averaged at least 10.5 points each year during his career. Crocklin totaled 970 points during his first three campaigns.

As a senior in 1988-89, he averaged 12.0 points while shooting 55.6 percent. He poured in 34 points at Florida International that season and also averaged 4.9 rebounds.

Crocklin also finished his career with 525 rebounds, which ranks ninth on UCF's all-time list.

Season tickets for the Knights' 2008-09 campaign at the new UCF Arena are slated to go on sale later this summer.

The 2008-09 campaign will mark the UCF men's basketball program's 40th season. To commemorate the anniversary, UCF is unveiling the top-40 players in school history. Members of the UCF athletics communications office worked with UCF basketball historian Bill Beekman to select the best players who finished their collegiate careers as Knights. One player from the list will be recognized each Thursday at www.ucfathletics.com.
