ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Kristen Zieminski (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview), who had a strong senior campaign for UCF's track and field team in the spring, has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors. Zieminski garnered a spot on the academic All-America second team after achieving a 4.00 grade point average while working on her master's in business administration at UCF.
The academic honor is the third of 2008 for Zieminski. In June, she received ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III First Team honors. Zieminksi was named to the Conference USA Track and Field All-Academic Team in May.
Zieminski ran the Knights' top time in the mile (5:06.53) during the indoor season, then ran her personal-best of 4:42.30 in the 1,500-meter run at the Vanderbilt Invitational in April. She helped UCF achieve an extraordinary season of firsts under first-year head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert, which included a school-best third-place finish at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in El Paso, Texas, in mid May.
Zieminski earned a dual bachelor's degree from UCF in advertising/public relations and marketing.
