FORMOSA, Argentina (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF freshman guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) scored 13 points to help Puerto Rico to a 94-76 victory over Venezuela Tuesday at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship. Puerto Rico improved to 2-0 at the five-day event.

In 22 minutes against Venezuela, Sosa connected on five field goals, including three triples. He added a pair of rebounds and two assists in the winning effort.

Sosa and his teammates will play their third game in as many days on Wednesday when they meet the United States. The squad will then continue the eight-team event with contests on Thursday and Friday.

In Puerto Rico's first game at the tournament, Sosa scored 17 points and added five boards in a win over the Bahamas Monday.

This past season, the 6-foot-3 Sosa was a Florida Class 1A All-State First Team selection at Grandview Prep in Boca Raton. He averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds.

Sosa will join the Knights in August. Season tickets for UCF's 2008-09 campaign at the new UCF Arena are scheduled to go on sale later in July.
