Sosa Shines in FIBA Americas Debut

FORMOSA, Argentina (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF freshman guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) was solid in his debut at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship on Monday, scoring 17 points in a 97-65 victory over the Bahamas. Sosa and his teammates will return to action at the eight-team, five-day tournament on Tuesday versus Venezuela.

In the win over the Bahamas, Sosa played 25 minutes. He shot 7-of-10 from the floor and connected on one 3-pointer. Sosa, who attended Grandview Prep in Boca Raton, Fla., also added five rebounds.

Puerto Rico will play five contests at the tournament. On Wednesday, the squad will meet the United States.

Sosa will join the UCF program in August.

Season tickets for the 2008-09 campaign are scheduled to go on sale later in July.
