ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF senior cornerback Joe Burnett will appear on Friday's edition of the Central Florida Sports Report on Central Florida News 13. Burnett recently traveled to CFN-13's downtown Orlando studio to speak with David Baumann about the Knights' upcoming season.
The segment will air at 11:13 p.m. on Friday and will also be featured as part of CFN-13's On Demand lineup.
Earlier in the week, Burnett was one of 40 players named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List. The Thorpe Award is given annually to the nation's top defensive back. Burnett is also a candidate for the Chuck Bednarik and Bronco Nagurski Awards. Both trophies are presented to the top defensive player in the country.
A Eustis native, Burnett is second all-time at UCF with 12 career interceptions. In 2007, he totaled six picks and was named to the All-Conference USA First Team as both a defensive back and punt returner.

Burnett and the Knights open the 2008 campaign on Aug. 30, hosting South Carolina State. UCF is slated to play six contests on campus at Bright House Networks Stadium.
