Orlando, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCF Athletics released the times for its 2008 home football schedule on Thursday. The Knights will play six regular season contests at Bright House Networks Stadium this year beginning with South Carolina State at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 30.
UCF will then entertain cross-state rival USF on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. for a contest set to air nationally on ESPN2. The Knights will then return home for their Conference USA opener on Saturday, Oct. 4 against SMU. The contest with the Mustangs and their new head coach June Jones is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS College Sports (CBS C).
Following another two-game road swing, UCF returns home for its fourth national broadcast of the season as the Knights face C-USA East Division foe East Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET. The Sunday night clash will air nationally on ESPN.
The Knights will play host to Southern Miss on Homecoming weekend the following Saturday, Nov. 8. The game with the Golden Eagles is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
UCF wraps up regular season play with their fifth-consecutive C-USA East Division opponent as UAB travels to Orlando for a game during Thanksgiving weekend. The Knights and Blazers close out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 3:30 p.m.
