Kime Shines in NPF Debut vs. the Chinese National Team

June 4, 2008

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Former UCF hurler Allison Kime (Brandon, Fla.) made her NPF debut with the Rockford Thunder on June 2 against the Chinese National team in exhibition, proving that she belongs among the best. The hurler held the National team scoreless through seven innings and tallied eight strikeouts, despite being tagged with the 2-1 loss.

Kime allowed only two runs, both unearned, on six hits and walked only two batters in the contest.

Two former UCF greats will be facing off in the Thunders' series beginning today, with Stephanie Best's team, the Washington Glory, traveling to Rockford. Kime looks to be the probable pitcher for Friday's contest scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m.

A two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Southeast Region First Team selection, Kime wrapped up her senior season less than a month ago, adding the exclamation mark to her record-breaking career with a victory over No. 1 Florida in the NCAA Regional final on May 18.

The Brandon, Fla., native concluded the 2008 campaign with a 34-12 record and a 1.17 ERA, while fanning a program-record 359 batters.

Kime holds 11 career-pitching records at UCF, while also securing five season records in 2008 alone, including games started (42), innings pitched (305.1), wins (34), complete games (36) and strikeouts (359).
