Kime Throws First Professional No-Hitter

June 27, 2008

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Former UCF softball ace Allison Kime (Brandon, Fla.) continues to dominate the competition even in the professional ranks, throwing her first professional no-hitter in a complete-game, 8-0, victory over the Netherlands National Team. The win moved Kime's record to 2-2 on the season.

Kime's performance set season lows for the Rockford Thunder in runs allowed (0), hits allowed (0) and baserunners (3), with the Netherlands reaching base on a pair of walks and an error. The hurler also fanned seven batters in the win.

Kime totaled four no-hitters during her three-year career at UCF, with her most recent coming in a 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic on March 25.

The Thunder currently hold an 8-10 record on the season and are in the middle of a four-game series with the New England Riptide.
