Best Traded to Rockford Thunder

June 27, 2008

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Former UCF standout Stephanie Best was traded to the Rockford Thunder earlier this month from the Washington Glory, where she joined former UCF hurler Allison Kime on the roster.

Since joining the squad in mid-June, Best is hitting .321 with nine hits, including two home runs. Her first home run as a member of the Thunder, a two-run shot, sealed the 3-2 victory over the Netherlands National Team for her squad. Her pair of home runs came in back-to-back games.

Best held a three-game hitting streak in her first three games in Rockford, which included a two-hit performance against the Netherlands in the final game of the teams' four-game series.

Best is in her fourth year in the league after becoming the first player from UCF to get drafted into the NPF in 2005, and is also playing with her fourth different team.
