ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Taking a glance at their statistics, it is easy to say that Bo Clark helped Calvin Lingelbach develop into one of the top point guards in UCF history. A further look at the stats shows that it might have been Lingelbach who aided in helping Clark become one of the top Division II scorers in the country in the 1970s.
When Clark scored a school-record 806 points during the 1976-77 campaign, he did so with Lingelbach as his point guard. Lingelbach dished out 138 assists that year as a senior, but during his time at UCF, he was much more than Clark's point guard.
Inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001, Lingelbach played on the hardwood for head coach Torchy Clark and the Knights from 1973-77. He appeared in 87 career contests, averaging 8.7 points and 2.8 assists.
During his senior season in 1976-77, the Knights went 24-4 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Lingelbach was also an infielder for the UCF baseball squad. In 1978, he had his best season on the diamond, hitting .300 with two home runs, 18 RBI and 11 doubles.
Season tickets for the 2008-09 campaign are expected to go on sale in early July. Season ticket renewals will also be accepted at that time.

The 2008-09 campaign will mark the UCF men's basketball program's 40th season. To commemorate the anniversary, UCF is unveiling the top-40 players in school history. Members of the UCF athletics communications office worked with UCF basketball historian Bill Beekman to select the best players who finished their collegiate careers as Knights. One player from the list will be recognized each Thursday at www.ucfathletics.com.
