ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - As the use of smartphones for Internet-related activities continues to increase, web site developers are beginning to create smartphone-friendly versions of websites. The smartphone-friendly version of UCFAthletics.com is now available and will host all headline content, such as game recaps and releases, along with associated content, including box scores and student-athlete bios.
While the more advanced content is not yet available, it is the goal of CBS College Sports and UCFAthletics.com to provide it in the near future.
How This Works
When a user visits UCFAthletics.com from their mobile device, a script automatically detects what type of interface is accessing the site. The phone's Internet browser uses a special wireless application protocol for transmitting and receiving information. Dependent upon the type of web browser on the smartphone, either the mobile or the fully-enabled version of the web site will appear. To find out which version of the site would appear, you can visit http://www.ucfathletics.com/m.
