EL PASO, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - Senior UCF mid-distance runner Kristen Zieminski (Sarasota, Fla.) has been named to the 2008 Conference USA Track and Field All-Academic Team, the league offices in Irving, Texas, announced Thursday.
Zieminski is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of UCF with a dual bachelor's degree in advertising/public relations and marketing. She currently holds a 4.00 grade point average while working on her master's in business administration at UCF.
Zieminski ran the Knights' top time in the mile (5:06.53) during the indoor season, then ran her personal-best 4:42.30 in the 1,500-meter run at the Vanderbilt Invitational in April.
Zieminiski is a five-time member of the Dean's List and was twice selected to the President's List and among the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal Winners.
UCF is currently at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships in El Paso, Texas. Zieminski begins her participation at 9:30 p.m. EDT Friday when she competes in the preliminaries of the 800-meter run.
