ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After moving up two spots in the national rankings, the No. 3 UCF rowing lightweight 8+ boat is set to travel to Philadelphia Saturday for the Dad Vail Regatta. The event serves as a qualifying regatta for the IRA National Championship in June.
The Knights are coming off a trip to Cambridge, Mass., where they defeated then-No. 3 Radcliffe and then-No. 10 MIT. They will be involved in a regatta this weekend which starts Friday with numerous men's and women's races taking place.
UCF's trip in the water is set for Saturday at 10:24 a.m. with heat No. 1 against No. 12 Buffalo, No. 13 Duquesne, Penn State and Ohio. The second heat will follow with No. 9 Lehigh, No. 11 Virginia Tech, No. 15 Temple, Northwestern and Ohio State getting together. The top three boats from each race move on the final at 3:25 p.m.
