ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After making a trio of stops around Florida, the final UCF Knights Coaches Caravan event of the spring is scheduled for Thursday evening in Seminole County. UCF alumni, fans and supporters in the area will have the opportunity to learn more about the Knights at the free event at the Marriott Orlando in Lake Mary.
The event is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
During the event, football head coach George O'Leary will offer a preview of the upcoming campaign. O'Leary will also participate in a question and answer session. The Knights are slated to open the campaign on Aug. 30 against South Carolina State at Bright House Networks Stadium.
In 2007, UCF went 10-4, claimed the Conference USA Championship and participated in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
UCF men's basketball head coach Kirk Speraw will also be in attendance at the event to discuss his program's success in C-USA and the new UCF Arena.
Todd Dagenais, who was named the Knights' volleyball head coach in January, is also scheduled to address the crowd on Thursday. Other UCF head coaches including Nick Clinard (men's golf), Bryan Cunningham (men's soccer) and Stephanie Nickitas (women's tennis) are planning to attend the event.
This spring, the coaches caravan has made stops in Melbourne, Jacksonville and Orlando.
