ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team played host to No. 72 Florida Atlantic last week, knocking off the Owls, 4-3, on Thursday at the UCF Tennis Complex. Sophomore Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) tied the match at three apiece with his singles win at No. 3 and junior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) earned the Knights their fourth point at No. 4 singles for the victory.

UCF (10-8) has been off since April 3, but will return to the courts on Saturday for a match against Jacksonville. First serve at the UCF Tennis Complex is set for 11 a.m.

Admission to all UCF home matches is free.

Team Notebook
TELL-TALE SIGN
The Knights hold a 6-2 record at their home courts. In those eight decisions, the No. 4 spot has been a predictor of the match's result.

While UCF owns an overall 11-7 mark at court four, the squad owns a 6-2 home record at the No. 4 spot. Each match UCF has won at No. 4, the Knights have recorded a team victory; in both of their home losses, the Knights have failed to register a win at court four.

ENDING ON A HIGH NOTE
After starting the season 3-5, UCF has bounced back to win seven of its last 10 decisions, including victories against No. 51 Tennessee Tech and the 72nd-ranked Owls.

The Knights were handed their fifth loss back in February at the Conference USA Shootout, but the team regrouped and went on a four-match winning streak.

PREPARING FOR TOURNAMENT TIME
On Saturday, UCF plays its last regular-season match. Following the contest against Jacksonville, the Knights will have five days to prepare before heading Dallas, Texas for the 2008 C-USA Men's Tennis Championship.

The tournament will be played at the SMU Tennis Center.

UCF has been the No. 5 seed the last two seasons.
