UCF Football Spring Practice Report: Day 10

April 8, 2008

The UCF football team returned to the practice fields after a two-day break on Tuesday as the Knights worked indoors for the third time this spring. With the first full-scale scrimmage behind them, the Knights spent a majority of the two-hour session polishing the plays the offensive and defensive coaches installed during the first nine workouts.

"Spring ball is a continued work in progress," offensive coordinator Tim Salem said. "You have to go out there everyday with the right attitude to want to get better. We are still installing things as we move along, but our guys are learning to make the plays and getting better."

The team-work periods of the day's session also included work inside the red zone where both sides of the ball made progress and had some highlights.

"The thing about spring football is if your offense has a good play, then your defense has a bad play and vice versa," Salem added. "That's the tricky part about gauging your team's progress. We have a few practices left here before the spring game, but we're looking forward to that and seeing what we have headed into the fall."

UCF will hold its annual spring football game as part of the 2008 UCF Hall of Fame Weekend next Saturday, April 12. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be played for the first time in Bright House Networks Stadium.
