ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF baseball is inviting all Knight fans to come out an enjoy a special event at Shingle Creek Golf Club Saturday. The third annual UCF Baseball Golf Classic is set to get underway with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, and the tournament will feature prizes, raffles and a barbecue immediately after completion.
Registration is open to everyone, and participants need to register by Friday in order to ensure a spot in the memorable event. The cost for an individual golfer is $125, while a foursome can enter for $500. Corporate sponsors can take part as well, and will be allowed to have two foursomes compete and be given two hole signs on the course. The golf package includes: green and cart fees, uplink GPS yardage system, range balls, special course contests, tournament scoring and calligraphy scoreboard, beverage cart services with complimentary drinks and a post-tournament buffet with burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips and cookies.

Along with Saturday's festivities, Sunday will feature a family barbecue at 11:30 a.m. before UCF's contest vs. No. 4 Rice at 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per person and the meal will be catered by Bubbalou's Bodacious Bar-B-Que. A home run derby also is on tap, and will begin 30 minutes after the Knights battle the Owls.
Shingle Creek Golf Club is owned and operated by Rosen Hotels & Resorts, and was recently named one of the top 40 best new courses in the country by Golfdigest. It is located just north of the 528 off Universal Blvd. Players may call 407-996-9933 for more information.
