TEXARKANA, Ark. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The 19th-ranked UCF men's golf team continued play at the Conference USA Championship on Monday at the Texarkana Country Club. With one round remaining at the tournament, the Knights are tied for seventh in the team standings at 589 (+13).
UCF freshman Kyle Cobb (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) fired an even-par 72 for the second-straight round on Monday and is tied for seventh.
The three-day, three-round event will conclude on Tuesday. Memphis is atop the team standings at three-over 568.
UCF posted a 302 (+14) team score in the second round and is tied with East Carolina. The teams are one stroke behind sixth-place Tulsa.
Cobb is tied with two other players for seventh at 142 (-2). UAB's Zach Sucher (134, -10) leads the tournament.
Sophomore Mike Stern (Miami, Fla./Killian) posted a four-over 76 on Monday. He is tied for 33rd at 149 (+5) with several competitors, including junior Greg Forest (Palm City, Fla./Martin County). Forest recorded a 78 (+6) in the second round.
Junior David Johnson (Palm Bay, Fla./Melbourne) tallied a five-over 77 today and is tied for 41st at 150 (+6). Senior Giwon Suh (78, +6 on Monday) is also 41st in the standings.
The tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
