UCF Men's Tennis Set to Host No. 72 Florida Atlantic

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team plays host to No. 72 Florida Atlantic on Thursday at the UCF Tennis Complex. First serve between the Knights and Owls is set for 2 p.m.

Admission to all UCF home matches is free. Fans attending the contest will receive a UCF visor courtesy of the UCF Athletics Association.

The Knights (9-8) head into April after posting a 6-3 record in the month of March. UCF also boasts a 5-2 mark at home.

Freshman Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) has won his last nine decisions, giving him a 9-0 mark at the No. 5 spot. The freshman has also won a team-high 11 singles tilts.

UCF has also received strong doubles play from junior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) and sophomore Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden). In their last 10 contests, the two hold an 8-2 record.

The Owls, who are 13-4, have won five of their last six matches.

Marc Abdelnour paces FAU with 13 singles victories, two of them coming against ranked opponents. Olivier Sajous, who has 11 singles wins, is 8-0 at No. 2.

The two teams met last year on March 17 where the Knights took the win against FAU, 4-3, in Boca Raton.
