El Paso, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team added two more nationally televised contests to its 2008 schedule after CBS College Sports Network officials announced its Conference USA games for the upcoming campaign earlier this week. With the pair of games set for coverage on CBS College Sports Network, the Knights already have five nationally televised contests on their schedule for next season.
Formerly CSTV, CBS College Sports Network will broadcast a pair of back-to-back UCF games this fall starting with the Knights' C-USA opener at UTEP on Sept. 27. That game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
The network will also air the Knights' league home opener with SMU at Bright House Networks Stadium the following Saturday, on Oct. 4. New head coach June Jones and the Mustangs will take on UCF for the first time in Orlando at 3:30 p.m. ET.
CBS College Sports Network has not yet released its November schedule of games and will hold onto a 12-day option prior to the Saturdays in November before announcing scheduled broadcasts.
UCF already has a trio of games scheduled for the ESPN family of networks next season. The first will be in week two on ESPN2 when cross-state rival USF ventures to Bright House Networks Stadium for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff.
The Knights will also play a pair of back-to-back Sunday night contests on ESPN, starting with a rematch of the 2007 Bright House Networks Championship Game vs. Tulsa on Oct. 26 at Skelly Stadium. That will be followed by a home contest vs. East Carolina on Nov. 2. Both Sunday night games are scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
