IRVING, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF senior Anna Yakimchenkova (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./American School) has been recognized for her work in the classroom, earning a spot on the 2008 Conference USA All-Academic Women's Tennis team. The league office announced the all-academic squad, which features five student-athletes, on Wednesday.

A three-time C-USA Academic Honor Roll selection, Yakimchenkova is majoring in accounting and boasts a 3.72 GPA. In 2006, she was tabbed as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete.

This season, Yakimchenkova is 16-9 in doubles play. The 16 wins tie her career-high for the most doubles victories in a season.

In singles competition, she has recorded 11 wins.

She was joined on the all-academic team by Hannah Priest and Brooke Walter of East Carolina, Julie Chao of Rice, Natalia Bubien of SMU and Agostina Santoro of Tulsa.
