ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - On Friday, the UCF men's tennis team will begin play at the 2008 Conference USA Championship in Dallas, Texas. In the first round of the tournament, the Knights will face UAB at 9 a.m. EST at the SMU Tennis Center. The semifinals are set for Saturday at noon.
UCF (11-8) ended its season on Saturday at home with a 6-1 win against Jacksonville.

FAMILIAR FOE
UCF has made two previous appearances at the C-USA Championship, both times as the No. 5 seed. Each time, the Knights have faced the Blazers in the first round of the tournament, with UAB winning both times.
Earlier this season, the Knights met UAB in the C-USA Shootout in Hattiesburg, Miss. Three Knights picked up singles victories, but UCF fell, 4-3.
GETTING REWARDED
On Monday evening, UCF student-athletes gathered for the End of Year All-Sports Banquet. Members of each team were honored for academic and athletic accomplishments during the 2007-08 school year. The following list includes awards student-athletes from the men's tennis team earned.
