ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team held a scaled-down practice session on Monday in shorts and helmets two days following the annual spring game at Bright House Networks Stadium that saw the `UCF' squad defeat the `Knights' squad, 16-7. The Knights have completed work on the majority of the areas head coach George O'Leary wanted to see accomplished during the spring season, but the team was able to focus on two-minute situations during their team drills on Monday and the case will be the same for Tuesday's final workout of the spring season.
"We are just going to go through two-minute drills and stuff like that, stuff we haven't really touched on yet," O'Leary said following Monday's brief practice. "We just want to make sure they hear it and make sure we talk about everything going into preseason. We will go in shorts and helmets again tomorrow, so it will be making sure they have the mental part down and just make sure they know the mechanics of all the those situations."
The Knights were only on the field for just over 40 minutes as the first-half of the session was spent on individual fundamental drills that the coaches have been stressing throughout the spring before the offense and defense split up to walk through two-minute situations. The practice commenced with a non-contact, two-minute drill between the offense and defense.
