CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The second and final day of the Virginia Invitational concluded Sunday with UCF battling Michigan State at Lake Monticello. The Knights grabbed a first-place finish in the novice 8+ race, but MSU was able to secure victories in the remaining three events.
Day two kicked off with the novice 8+ topping the Spartans by just over two seconds with a time of 7:01.5. The varsity 4+ was then captured by MSU with UCF placing second by completing the course in 7:57.5. Michigan State also earned first in the second varsity 8+, while its No. 7 first varsity 8+ boat topped the Knights with a time of 6:28.8. UCF finished its race in a time of 6:40.4.
UCF will now get ready to head west when it takes part in the Stanford Invitational April 19-20.
