ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Two members of the UCF athletics communications office had the opportunity to assist with the media relations efforts at the Women's Final Four in Tampa this week. Assistant director Sean Cartell and student assistant Ira Green both headed west to for the event, which concluded on Tuesday at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Cartell, who is in his first year at UCF, and Green, a senior at the school, both assisted members of the media covering the championship. Cartell helped the NCAA staff with postgame notes, while Green transcribed quotes for media members to utilize.
Tennessee claimed the national title, defeating Stanford in front of 21,655 fans in Tampa and a national television audience on ESPN on Tuesday.
In addition to working with several other sports, Cartell serves as the Knights' women's basketball media relations contact. Green handles the media relations duties for UCF's men's tennis program.
