April 10, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - On Saturday, UCF will welcome its fans to Bright House Networks Stadium as the Knights are set to hold to their first spring game at the on-campus venue. The event, which is part of UCF's Hall of Fame Weekend, is slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Knights will be playing on the Bright House Networks Stadium field for the first time since Dec. 1, when they topped Tulsa to claim the Conference USA Championship Game title.

Fans can purchase tickets prior to the game online at www.ucfathletics.com, via the phone at 407-UCF-1000 and at the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at Bright House Networks Stadium. The ticket office, on the west side of the facility, is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

On Saturday, the ticket office will open at noon. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the ticket office.

General admission tickets are $5. UCF students will receive free admission with a valid school ID. Children under two will also receive free admission.

Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, prospective season-ticket holders can participate in a select-a-seat event at the stadium. Following the spring game, members of team will participate in fan day, signing autographs for UCF supporters.

After a recent UCF practice, members of the UCF athletics communications office spoke with senior wide receiver Rocky Ross and junior defensive back Emery Allen about the spring game.

#5 - WR Rocky Ross

How anxious is the team to play the spring game inside Bright House Networks Stadium?
"We are very excited to do that. We have to prepare ourselves to go out there and have a good spring game for ourselves and for the fans that show up. We are hoping to have a good crowd in the stadium because that's what having an on-campus stadium is all about."

#22 - CB Emery Allen

How excited is the team to get back onto Bright House Networks Stadium field?
"We are excited to get back [on the field]. We're coming off a big win with the conference championship. We are excited to see what we can do this year with some people leaving. We just want to show everyone what we can do. I'm just really excited because our parents are going to be coming out here, the students are going to be out to support us and we're going to have fun. We're just ready to get out there."
