Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF Student Athletics Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be hosting its first-annual uKNIGHTed: Pros and Joes, 2008 charity event Sunday, April 6, at the UCF Memory Mall to create awareness and raise money for the Central Florida Children's Home. The event will pit current UCF athletes and Knight fans against one another is various sporting events, and will also feature a silent auction and numerous prize giveaways. All activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run until 8 p.m.
Not only will fans be able to participate in numerous contests throughout the evening, but they will also be able to enjoy free food, beverages and a live DJ.
The event is free for anyone that would like to participate, with all donations supporting the Central Florida Children's Home.
The Central Florida Children's Home is located 15 miles south of Orlando and cares for abandoned, abused and neglected children, ages 3-18, whose parents either cannot or will not care for them. The home receives no state or federal funding, but exists because of the support and donations from people in the Central Florida community.
