UCF Football Spring Practice Report: Day Six

April 1, 2008

Orlando, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF football team worked out in shorts and helmets after three-consecutive full pad practices on Tuesday. The Knights were indoors for the first time as well this spring as the team spent just over two hours practicing in Nicholson Fieldhouse.

With less contact work during the session, the Knights focus was continuing installation on both sides of the ball and head coach George O'Leary was pleased with what he saw as his team continues to get better each day.

One area of the team that is going to see several new starters in the fall is the offensive line and O'Leary commented on the progress that unit is making this spring. "I thought it was a really good day for installation and we were able to get a lot of things done," O'Leary said. "They are picking it up ... All five guys have to be in unison as far as getting things done, but they are coming along. They are going against an experience defensive line, which is helping them get better. I thought today with all the installation we got in, I thought they did a great job, I really did."

Following the customary individual drills, the Knights once again worked on half-line drills, full-team drills and closed out practice with 11-on-11 work between the first, second and third offensive and defensive units.

The Knights will return to the outdoor practice fields on Wednesday for their seventh practice of the spring season.

UCF will hold its annual spring football game on Saturday, April 12 as part of the 2008 UCF Hall of Fame Weekend. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be played for the first time in Bright House Networks Stadium.
