Home Stand Concludes Friday as Women's Tennis Hosts Tennessee Tech

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Following 10-consecutive matches against programs from the Sunshine State, the UCF women's tennis team welcomes Tennessee Tech to town Friday at 2 p.m. The clash with the Golden Eagles will wrap up a three-match home stand for the Knights.

UCF recently posted a 6-1 victory over Florida Atlantic March 1 to improve to 5-5 on the season, and is 3-1 so far at home in 2008. Junior Kenza Belbacha has been leading the Knights in singles as of late, winning her last four matches to bring her record to 10-8. Also victorious in the previous four outings, the doubles combination of senior Jennifer Carati and junior Elvira Serrot are 7-3 at the No. 2 position and are 11-6 together this year.

Tennessee Tech, meanwhile, stands at 2-8 after suffering three-straight losses to Ball State, Memphis and Georgia Southern. Its two victories have occurred against UT-Pan American and Evansville. The Golden Eagles will travel to Boca Raton Thursday before heading to Orlando.

The Knights lead the series 1-0, as they traveled to Cookeville, Tenn., April 5, 2003, and posted a 6-1 win over the Golden Eagles.
