Women's Tennis Handed 5-2 Loss by Wisconsin

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF wrapped up its longest home stand of the season when the women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Wisconsin Sunday at the UCF Tennis Complex. The match served as the fifth-straight home contest for the Knights, which dropped their record to 8-8 on the season.

Wisconsin (7-8) secured the 1-0 overall lead by taking two of three doubles matches. However, at the No. 2 spot senior Jennifer Carati and junior Elvira Serrot won their ninth-straight match, defeating Morgan Tuttle and Emese Kardhordo, 8-5. The duo now owns a 16-6 record for 2007-08.

The Badgers then captured four points in singles play to lock up the team win. Notching victories for the Knights, Serrot delivered an impressive 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 against Kardhordo, while senior Anna Yakimchenkova squeaked by Katya Mirnova at No. 4, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0(10-8).

The Black and Gold returns to action when it travels to Memphis, Tenn., April 4-5 to battle UAB and Memphis.
