UCF Men's Tennis to Host Cornell on Friday

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team hosts Cornell in the first of three straight home matches. First serve is set for 2 p.m. on Friday at the UCF Tennis Complex.

The Knights (7-6) have won their last four of five matches, with two of the victories coming in the state of California last week.

UCF has received strong singles play freshmen Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) and Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla./Washington). Both have prevailed in their last six singles decisions, while Romano is tied for the team-lead in singles victories with eight.

Junior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) and sophomore Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) have also been crucial for UCF in doubles. The duo won their last five decisions, giving them a 5-0 mark at the No. 2 spot.

The Big Red (5-6) is coming off a 7-0 loss at No. 31 South Florida.

The Knights own the all-time series, 1-0.
