ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Sophomore UCF sprinter Feyisara Adaramola (Bronx, N.Y.) has been named the Knights' track and field athlete of the week, as decided by the team's coaching staff on Monday, following her weekend performances at the Dick Taylor Relays in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Adaramola broke a six-year-old school record in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.57 to finish first in the event finals. She became the first athlete in school history to break the 7.60 mark in the 60-meter dash.
Adaramola has been the Knights' top competitor in the short sprint events this season, holding squad-best times in both the 55 and 60-meter dashes.
Following each week of competition, head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert and her staff will nominate an athlete to be the school's track and field athlete of the week based on the previous weekend's meet. That athlete will then be eligible to be considered for the Conference USA Athlete of the Week, announced each Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
The Knights return to action this weekend when they travel to the Conference USA Championships in Houston, Texas.

The UCF track and field team traveled to the Dick Taylor Relays in Chapel Hill, N.C., this past weekend ... Two school records and 11 PRs were set at the event ... Feyisara Adaramola set the school record in the 60-meter dash, while Victoria Chin broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles ... Under the direction of first-year head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert, the Knights have broken 12 indoor school records already this season ... UCF returns to action this weekend when it travels to Houston, Texas, to compete in the Conference USA Championships that take place Feb. 29-March 1.
