UCF Fastbreak - Feb. 13

Feb. 13, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Each time during a game that he steps to the free-throw line and knocks down a shot, senior guard Dave Noel (Boynton Beach, Fla./Boynton Beach) continues his climb in UCF's career record book. The shooting guard is third all-time in school history, shooting at an 83.1 percent clip from the free-throw line.

In his third year with the Knights after transferring from UNC-Wilmington, Noel has made 211 of his 254 attempts at the charity stripe. Cleveland Jackson (1977-79) is UCF's all-time leader in the category, making 83.8 percent of his attempts.

This year, Noel is 77-of-93 (82.8 percent) at the line. His percentage ranks 84th in the country.

He has been accurate at the free-throw line in crunch time in 2007-08, making 33-of-37 attempts (89.2) in the last five minutes of games.

Noel will have the opportunity to increase his career free-throw percentage on Saturday when the Knights face Rice in Houston for a Conference USA contest.

UCF's next home contest is Feb. 20 versus East Carolina. Tip-off at the new UCF Arena is set for 7 p.m. and ticket information is available by calling 407-UCF-1000.
