Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With National Signing Day set for Wednesday, UCFathletics.com will once again be the best destination for Knight fans to stay up-to-date with the extensive coverage of the day's events. The website will be continually updated as prep athletes from across the country sign their National Letters of Intent to play football for head coach George O'Leary and the Conference USA champion Knights.
The coverage will begin when the first facsimile is sent to the UCF football offices Wednesday morning and is approved by the school's compliance department. A biography of each player's prep career will be posted to the website once the NLI is confirmed.
Wednesday is the first day that high school seniors can confirm their verbal pledges with a signature to play for their desired institutions.
O'Leary will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. ET, which will later be archived on the website as the fourth-year coach discusses his 2008 signing class with the local media.
At 4:45 p.m. following the press conference, administrators with the Golden Knights Club will host the annual Sign and Dine Party in the club lounge of the Roth Tower at Bright House Networks Stadium for their Valiant Level members and above. Following a reception and a live auction of one-of-a-kind UCF football packages, O'Leary and his assistant coaches will be on hand to discuss each member of the Knights' 2008 signing class in detail.
Knights fans are also encouraged to cap the exciting day off at the new UCF Arena where the men's basketball team will be taking on Marshall in a Conference USA match-up set for 7 p.m.
UCF will open up 2008 spring practices on March 19 and hold its annual spring game on April 12.
