ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Former UCF soccer forward James Georgeff (Newcastle, Australia) has been selected by the Houston Dynamo, the two-time defending MLS Cup Champions, in the 2008 supplemental draft, it was announced Friday.

Georgeff, 6-foot-2, 188 lbs., played in each of UCF's 18 matches last season, making 16 starts and ranking third on the team with four goals scored. He played in 35 matches during his two-year career with the Knights after transferring from Clemson following the 2004 campaign.

Georgeff is the second member of his family to play at the professional level, as his father, Stase, competed with England's Leyton Orient Football Club.

Houston opens its 2008 training camp on Friday, Feb. 1 at Carl Lewis Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. Regular-season play begins Saturday, March 29 at New England.
