ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's soccer program notched two more postseason awards when the Soccer Buzz all-region teams were announced. Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Manis (Pensacola, Fla.) was named to the All-Southeast Region Second Team while sophomore forward Yvonne George (Winter Springs, Fla.) nabbed a spot on the third team.
The 2007 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, Manis played every minute in net for the Knights en route to helping UCF to a 15-4-4 record. She posted a 0.87 goals-against average, 10 shutouts and 126 saves. Along with the regional honor from Soccer Buzz, Manis was a member of the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Third Team, the C-USA All-Academic Team and the NSCAA Women's Scholar All-America Second Team.
George was an All-C-USA Second Team honoree in 2007 after netting eight goals, including three game-winners. She also accumulated five assists for 21 points, which ranked in a tie for fourth in C-USA. A two-time C-USA Offensive Player of the Week award winner, George scored in five-straight games from Sept. 22-Oct. 12 as she became one of the Knights' key offensive contributors all season long.
