ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With the collegiate baseball season approaching very quickly, UCF and ISP Sports announced the 2008 UCF baseball broadcast schedule Thursday. A total of 19 regular-season home games, as well as all postseason events, will be aired on 740-AM in Orlando.
Marc Daniels, the "Voice of the Knights," is set to call all of the action from the press box. He will open the broadcast slate with the second game of a three-game series vs. Central Michigan on March 1 at 1 p.m., then dive right into Conference USA action March 28-30 vs. East Carolina.
Fans can also listen to three weekday tilts when the Knights clash with USF April 1 and April 8, and also take on Stetson April 9. Meanwhile, UCF's remaining four home weekend series will be featured on 740-AM. The Black and Gold will meet Memphis April 11-13, No. 6 Rice April 25-27 and UAB May 9-11 in C-USA play, and ultimately close out the regular season with a non-conference series vs. No. 13 Clemson May 15-17. The Tigers have never visited Jay Bergman Field, but the Knights own a 3-2 all-time record as they took two of three games on Clemson's home field in 2004, while the two programs also met once in 1998 and 2000.
Every UCF baseball game will feature a 15 minute pregame show, hosted by Daniels. Along with 740-AM, fans outside of Orlando can listen online at www.UCFAthletics.com.
Meanwhile, UCF's remaining home games also will be broadcast on the Knights' official website.
The Knights begin their 2008 campaign vs. Florida A&M Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Jay Bergman Field. Following the three-game series vs. the Rattlers, UCF hosts No. 15 Missouri in a one-game showdown Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
