ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - When the UCF men's basketball team plays its inaugural Conference USA game inside the new UCF Arena on Saturday versus Tulsa, fans attending the contest will receive a complimentary 2007 UCF football championship poster. Tip-off for the game is set for 7 p.m. and all fans entering the building will receive the limited-edition poster.
On the gridiron in 2007, the Knights won 10 games, claimed the C-USA Championship title and participated in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The team opened Bright House Networks Stadium in fine fashion, going 6-1 at the new on-campus facility.
At halftime of the basketball game, the UCF Athletics Association will honor the football team.
Head coach Kirk Speraw's basketball squad is 6-2 in its state-of-the-art new facility this season. UCF opened C-USA play on the road on Tuesday and posted a 52-41 win against Southern Miss.
A year ago, the Knights went 11-5 in conference play and finished second in the 12-team league. Following the regular season, Speraw was selected as the C-USA Coach of the Year.
The UCF Athletics Association is offering a C-USA Pack ticket deal that includes tickets to the Knights' eight league home games. For more information about the ticket package, call 407-UCF-1000.
UCF students are admitted free to all home games.
