Kevin Smith's 284-yard rushing performance led the Knights to a 44-25 win over Tulsa on Saturday as UCF claimed the 2007 Conference USA Championship title at Bright House Networks Stadium. The junior tailback scored four times, including a 74-yard run in the fourth quarter. Smith now stands second all-time on the NCAA Bowl Subdivison rushing yards in a season list with 2,448. With 39 carries versus the Golden Hurricane, Smith broke the NCAA all-time record for rushing attempts in a season (415). Smith and the Knights will now play in a bowl game for the second time in school history. The Knights will face an SEC team in a Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., on Dec. 29.
