Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The residents of Summerville Senior Living Center in nearby Oviedo received an early morning wake-up call from the UCF women's basketball team Monday when they participated in "Breakfast with the Knights" during their morning meal.
First year head coach Joi Williams, her staff and players visited and played games with the Summerville residents for over an hour, including a game titled "The Get-to-Know-You Game," where the players had to find out specific facts about the residents and their lives.
Besides conversing, the Knights gave away signed posters and invited the 65 residents to the UCF Holiday Classic taking place at the new UCF Arena this Wednesday and Thursday. UCF takes on Appalachian State Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m., before facing UNC-Greensboro Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
