Smith's All-America Mentions Reach Double Figures, Named To ESPN.com First Team

Dec. 17, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The All-America honors continue to pile up for UCF junior running back Kevin Smith as he was named to the ESPN.com first team on Monday. Smith's honor is his 10th first-team honor of the postseason and 11th overall.

Earlier last week, Smith was also named to the NFL Draft Digest's first team. The digest has been in business for 17 years and the 2007 All-America team was their 12th annual one that the publication has released over the past decade.

Smith's record-breaking 2007 season saw the Miami native rush for 2,448 yards and 30 touchdowns - both figures led the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.

The Knights returned to the practice fields on Monday to resume preparations for their AutoZone Liberty Bowl match-up with Mississippi State on Dec. 29. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Limited tickets remain available for the 49th-annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl contest. Fans can call 407-823-1000 for more information on the remaining tickets.
