RENO, Nev. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Traveling via the air for the first time this season, members of the UCF men's basketball team experienced a long day on Friday as the team left Orlando and headed west to Nevada. The Knights face Nevada on Sunday evening in Reno.
The traveling party left campus at 8 a.m. on Friday morning and landed in Reno at 6 p.m. Eastern. The squad had an hour layover in Las Vegas before going to Reno.
The game against the Wolf Pack will serve as the Knights' first out-of-state contest in 2007-08.
Typically, the Knights leave for road games the day before away contests. According to UCF associate head coach Mike Jaskulski, the team departed Orlando on Friday due to the length of the flight to Reno.
On Friday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, the Knights are slated to practice on the Nevada campus.
UCF and the Wolf Pack will be meeting for the second time this season. On Nov. 11, UCF posted a 63-60 victory over Nevada in the inaugural game at the new UCF Arena. The Knights have never played in Reno.
UCF-Nevada will be aired live on the UCF-ISP Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Team in Orlando. Marc Daniels will have the call from the Lawlor Events Center and the broadcast will also be available at www.ucfathletics.com.
The game is slated to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern.
The Knights' next home game is Dec. 28 against traditional power Connecticut.
Single-game tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the UCF ticket office at Bright House Networks Stadium.
Season tickets are still available by calling 407-UCF-1000.
